The Story of Two Masks
In a world where the pandemic has led to millions of people losing their lives, wearing a mask has become an essential common practice. However, through this piece I expressed the fact that people already wear a mask. The layered fabric covering the mouth and nose is merely a second visible one. Whether it be through makeup, a drama character or a deeper emotional reasoning, most of us feel like we need to cover up our true self. I created this piece to share a depiction of the reality of the two masks and add an influence of current affairs to my work. The splurge of geometrical shapes and bright red colour were my chosen medium to express reality, as well as variety.
